Robin Hood - Russell Crowe edition

Post  Mojo Turbo on Thu Jul 04, 2013 2:55 pm

So I've been Jack 3x for Halloween, and there is no new movie this year, so he goes on the shelf for another year - and as much as I'd like to do Tonto - without the Lone Ranger.... and with my beer belly, probably not a good idea. So I am opting for Robin Hood!

Robin Hood has always been a long time hero of mine. I even love the Disney movie with the foxes. And so now of course, my 5 year old son ALSO loves Robin Hood and he really loves Bows and Arrows, so I was out looking on eBay and what do you know? I found a guy selling his movie version Robin Hood costume. There are a lot of good pieces in here (and some not so good) and most would be even better with a little TLC and a lot of sunlight, dirt and bleach.

Here is what I have to work with: http://mojoturbocostumes.wikispaces.com/Robin+Hood+-+Russell+Crowe+Edition

Oh and did I mention... weapons?

What do you know? Two belts with tucked tongues... and I think I see a bone on the belt

Got my costume yesterday - everything looks great. The paulderon was missing a strap, but I think I can fix it. I think the previous owner spent a lot of money and he was too afraid to weather it all. NOT ME! He's going to crap if he ever sees what I am going to do with it.

Check out - how much this stuff costs NEW! http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/c-562-robin-hood.aspx

I decided I am going to sell the long sword and whatever that short club sword is, along with a leather scale chest plate and 6 handmade arrows. I am thinking early September might be a good time to start listing them. Although I might throw them up just for fun to see if I can get something for them.

The long sword comes with a full double belt, sheath and replica leather prop bag - PLUS the wall mount!

You should have seen me trying to put on leather pants! OMG Laughing They are so tiiight. I felt like Ross from Friends. Why did I pick ANOTHER "HOT" costume?! Oi Vey - detailed pictures soon.

Looks like a bargain, Mojo. Unfortunately, we have issues getting such 'weapons'! From your past exploits, I look forward to seeing the finished article. bow

Priced it all out, the previous owner spent over $2,000 - I grabbed it all for $475 - now I am going to try to sell of a few pieces to recoup my losses.

"This is where the fun begins...."
